Burketown is a small outback town located 2115km north west of Brisbane, 900km east of Cairns and approximately 30km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria in Queensland. Situated on the Albert River in the Gulf Country, flights over the region offers spectacular views of the salt pans and rivers that make up this unique and spectacular landscape.

Flights meet at the Burketown Visitor Centre and Yagurli Tours Headquarters located at 87 Musgrave Street, Burketown.

How to get there
From Cairns-
Follow the Bruce Hwy/A1 to Normanton then follow the National Route 1 to Burketown. This is approximately a 10.5 hour drive so make sure to carry a map, food and water, and plan your drive in advance.
